26/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday 25 September, the European Parliament adopted a raft of proposals to codify European directives on road safety and technical standards for two- and three-wheeled vehicles. These proposals, from the four reports by Hans-Peter Mayer (EPP-ED, Germany) relate to: the positioning of registration plates on the rear of two- and three-wheeled vehicles, rear view mirrors on agricultural or forest tractors, two-wheeled vehicles' stands and safety fittings for passengers in such vehicles. The EP also approved the proposal to codify the regulation on applying competition rules to rail, road and river/canal transport sectors. (aby)
