13/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - A transition period has been granted until the end of 2009 to allow Bulgaria to bring its dairy products and meat products plants into line with Community procedures in terms of safety and traceability of animal by-products. On Wednesday, 12 September, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health endorsed a draft decisions to grant such transitional measures to 586 Bulgarian plants. (lc)
