11/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 27 August, Ronald K. Noble, Interpol Secretary General, officially opened the organisation's liaison office at Europol headquarters in The Hague, in order to strengthen collaboration between the two police bodies. The new bureau will provide additional support in communications concerning projects underway, criminal analysis and police information with the Interpol secretariat general in Lyons. Mr Noble discussed with Europol Director Max-Peter Ratzel the roadmap signed in 2005 on strengthening cooperation between the two organisations. This roadmap identifies the areas in which Interpol and Europol can work together such as the trafficking of human beings, terrorism and crimes against children. (bc)
