10/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - Jean de Ruyt has been appointed to the post of Belgium's Permanent Representative to the EU, replacing Jan de Bock. Mr de Ruyt, a former Belgian Representative to the United Nations, took up his post on 29 August. His assistant will be the former spokesman for the Belgian Prime Minister from 2003 to 2007 Didier Seeuws, who succeeded Louis Mouraux as Deputy Permanent Representative on 1 August 2007. (ab)
