10/09/2007 (Agence Europe) - EU High Representative for the CFSP Javier Solana welcomed the agreement between Montenegrin and Serbian foreign ministers allowing Serbian Orthodox Bishop Filaret to enter Montenegro under police escort. In a press release published on 8 September, Mr Solana welcomed that the agreement on this difficult issue had been reached in a spirit of cooperation and in the interest of stability. At the same time, he underlined the importance of cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY). The Bishop of Mileseva in Serbia features on ICTY lists of persons suspected of assisting persons accused by The Hague. (ab)
