24/08/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 23 August, the European Commission granted clearance to the acquisition of joint control of Alstom Rail Service ('ARS', Switzerland) by Alstom Schienenfahrzeuge AG ('Alstom', Switzerland, part of the Alstom group), and SBB Cargo AG ('SBB', Switzerland), a Swiss rail transport services company. The deal was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (cd)
