At informal Guimaraes Council, Rainer Plassman (CEEP) calls for “better coordination” of policies between member states

Brussels, 05/07/2007 (Agence Europe) - At the informal Social Council which opened in Guimaraes on Thursday (see EUROPE 9461), European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation and of Enterprises of General Economic Interest (CEEP) Secretary General Rainer Plassman stressed that improvement of the open method of coordination (OMC) should not lead to a widening of EU competences on social policies “through the back door”. “YES to better coordination, NO to blurred competences,”...
