Two chapters of negotiations opened with Turkey and six with Croatia

Brussels, 25/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday, the EU gave its green light to the opening-up of two new chapters of accession negotiations with Ankara, but abstained over a third. The position of France, which had highlighted the difficulties relating to the “Economic and Monetary Union (EMU)” chapter (EUROPE 9445), thus prevailed at the meeting of EU ambassadors on Monday.
