Commission makes €7 million available to help member states to tackle influx of refugees

Brussels, 21/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - During International Refugee Day on 20 June, the European Commission indicated that it had succeeded in obtaining another budget line for €7 million to help member states, such as Sweden and Malta, tackle the significant influx of refugees. This announcement was made in a letter from Commissioner Franco Frattini sent on 20 June to the German minister of the interior, Wolfgang Schauble.
