15/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - Please note that John Chave, secretary general of the Pharmaceutical Group of the EU (PGEU), was misquoted in our article 28 of the bulletin on 15th June, number 9446 (“European pharmacists defend subsidiarity for pharmacy regulation”). He in fact said that the “rules in relation to the ownership of pharmacies could be blown away” if the Commission wins case C-531/06 against Italy currently before the Court of Justice, not that the pharmacy sector itself will be blown away. Also, please note that this case pertains to the retail pharmacy sector, not wholesale pharmacy as was mistakenly indicated. (cd)
