12/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - The Council decision appointing the members and alternate members of the management board of the European Institute for Gender Equality was published in Official Journal of the EU C 128 of 9 June 2007. These government representatives are appointed for a period of three years, from 1 June 2007 to 31 May 2010. 18 EU member states submitted lists of candidates to the Council: Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Greece, Luxembourg, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia and Sweden). The Institute for Gender Equality is based in Vilnius. It has a budget of €52.5 million for the period 2007-2010, and is expected to employ around 30 people by 2013 (see, among others, EUROPE 9319).
