08/08/2007 (Agence Europe): During a debate on Thursday evening, the Transport Council backed the creation of a European centre to monitor ships' Long Range Tracking System (LRIT) information, asking the Commission to provide further information by October 2007 on how the LRIT centre would be funded and on various legal issues.
