05/06/2007 (Agence Europe) - On 5 June, the European Commission granted clearance under the EU Merger Regulation to the acquisition of sole control of First Data Corporation (First Data) of the US by Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co (KKR), also of the US. KKR is a private equity firm. First Data is active in electronic commerce and payments solutions. The operation was examined under the simplified merger review procedure. (ol)
