Brussels, 10/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Thursday 10 May, European Commission Vice-President Franco Frattini presented the second edition of the handbook on integration of non-EU nationals. This handbook, which provides examples of successful immigrant integration initiatives from across the EU, was unveiled at the informal meeting of ministers responsible for integration in Potsdam (Germany) on 10-11 May (see EUROPE 9421). The Commission also announced that it had selected 12 innovative projects following the 2006 call for proposals for preparatory actions for the integration of third-country nationals (the INTI programme). These projects will be supported by grants totalling €4 million. The Commission noted that the new European Fund for the Integration of Third-country Nationals has a budget of €825 million for the period from 2007 to 2013. (lc)
