Brussels, 09/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - Addressing the European Parliament international trade committee, chaired by Helmut Markov (GUE, Germany), Director General of DG Trade David O'Sullivan said on Tuesday that the Commission was still reflecting on the form to give its response to the views expressed by stakeholders during the public consultation exercise on the review of trade defence instruments (see EUROPE 9278, 9279, 9322 and 9387), which closed on 30 April. The Commission's response, which could take the form of a White Paper, was not expected before summer and would most probably appear in September or October, Mr O'Sullivan added. Trade Commissioner Peter Mandelson said recently that he did not expect any great changes in Community trade defence measures (see EUROPE 9408). (eh)
