Brussels, 07/05/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Monday 7 May, the European Commission authorised plans to take joint control of the French company TPHST by Teleperformance S.A. of France and The Phone House SAS, the French subsidiary of the Carphone Warehouse of the United Kingdom. Teleperformance and TPHST manage call centres, whilst Carphone Warehouse is a distributor of products and services related to mobile telephones.
Clearance was also given for the creation of a joint company by CERP Rouen S.A. (France) and Sanacorp Pharmahandel AG (“Sanacorp”, Germany). The two companies will have joint control of the new entity, Millennium, which will combine the activities of its parent companies in the wholesale of pharmaceutical products and services in France, Belgium and Germany.
Lastly, the Commission has approved acquisition plans of the French insurance company Groupama to take joint control of its compatriot Servepar, a company active in asset management, which is ultimately planning to specialise in the distribution of salary savings products, and which is currently controlled by the hotel group Accor S.A. (France).
These three projects were all assessed under the simplified procedure. (cd)
