Brussels, 30/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - Speaking at the Brussels Forum organised by the German Marshall Fund of the US in Brussels, the High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, said on Monday that he felt that Washington should plan to open a “path for dialogue” with Teheran. “We must see how far the United States are prepared to commit”, he said, adding: “I believe that at this point, the fact that the United States are opening a channel of communication with Iran deserves to be taken on board”. Mr Solana stated that he would talk to the Americans about this at the EU/United States Summit to be held in Washington this Monday. (eh)
