24/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - In conclusions adopted on Monday 23 April, the Council stresses its attachment to the Hague Code of Conduct against the proliferation of ballistic missiles (HCOC, formerly known as the International Code of Conduct, ICOC), adopted in The Hague in 2002. In the light of the list of priorities for implementation of the European strategy for combating weapons of mass destruction, adopted by the Council in December 2006, the ministers undertake to promote universal application of the code and respect for its principles. With a view to the meeting of the parties that are signatory to HCOC, to be held end May/early June, the Council has decided to organise a conference to tackle both these issues in cooperation with the EU Institute for Security Studies (ISS EU) and under the aegis of the German EU Presidency.
