Construction begins on Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline

Brussels, 24/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - On Tuesday, TAPC, owned by the Turkish company Calik Enerji and the Italian company Eni, began work on the Samsun-Ceyhan oil pipeline, which will link the Turkish ports of Samsun on the Black Sea and Ceyhan in the south east of the Mediterranean, and will, it is hoped, ease the increasing pressure on maritime oil transport in the Straits of the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles.
