24/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - The co-chairman of the joint EU/Turkey parliamentary committee, Joost Lagendijk of the Netherlands (Greens) welcomed on Tuesday the nomination of the Turkish foreign minister, Abdullah Gül, as a candidate for the Justice and Development Party (AKP), the party that is currently in power, for the presidential elections in Turkey.
