03/04/2007 (Agence Europe) - The withdrawal of German energy company E.ON's bid for Spanish electricity giant Endesa does not alter the fact that the restrictions imposed on the planned deal were illegal, said a spokesperson for EU Competition Commissioner Neelie Kroes on Tuesday. The Commission will therefore not be suspending its proceedings against Endesa, which it took to the European Court of Justice on 28 March. (cd)
