16/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - According to a release from Reuters dated 15 February, the European Commission is preparing to announce next Wednesday that several companies are to be condemned for unlawful agreements on the market for lifts. Manufacturers concerned are Otis held by United Technologies (of the US), ThyssenKrupp (Germany), Schindler (Switzerland) and Kone (Finland). Ivo Zimmermann, Deputy Head for Communications with Schindler, explained to EUROPE: “This is nothing new as the inquiry has been going on since 2004. We are waiting for the results before taking a decision”. (cd)
