Council recognises importance of greater public procurement access as part of GPA revision at WTO

Brussels, 12/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - French perseverance in the dossier on renegotiating the 1994 WTO agreement on Government Procurement (GPA) has finally paid off: in discussions and (EUROPE 9351) numerous meetings in Brussels, the French minister of trade, Christine Lagarde, persuaded her European counterparts to recognise the importance of offering SMEs greater access to the Union's public procurement markets.
