12/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Sergio Marini was elected on Friday 9 February as the new president of the Confederazione Nazionale coltivatori dirretti (Coldiretti). Mr Marini, who is 42, succeeds Paolo Bedoni. Mr Marini heads a greenhouse vegetable production company in Umbria. He entered Coldiretti in 1984 as the provincial delegate for the Terni youth movement. In 1997, he was president of Coldiretti Umbria, before becoming, in 2001, national vice-president of the confederation. (lc)
