09/02/2007 (Agence Europe) - Last week, the European Commission published its final evaluation of the results obtained in implementing the multi-annual Community programme to stimulate the development and use of European digital content on the global networks and to promote linguistic diversity in the information society (eContent 2001-2005). The Commission believes the programme was successfully implemented, enhancing the role of digital content and stimulating the economic and social development of European businesses. The Commission also found that the programme promoted rich and diverse digital content and services contributing to the creation of a single European information space and an Information Society for growth and employment.
