19/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - British beef was imported illegally into France from 1996 to 1998, during the period when there was a ban on exporting British meat because of the bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE, or mad cow disease), a police report, quoted by AFP, revealed on Friday 19 January.
