Brussels, 10/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - Prime minister Jean-Claude Juncker will be taking part at the European Central Bank Governing Council in Frankfurt on Thursday 11 January, in his capacity as president of the Eurogroup. At the Council, Juncker will be putting forward the views of the Eurogroup on the situation and economic prospects of the Eurozone. The Governing Council brings together the directorate of the ECB and governors of the central banks in the Eurozone. From 1 January this year the governor of the Central Bank of Slovenia (the 13th member country of the Eurozone) is part of the Council. The president of the Eurogroup and the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs, can attend meeting of the ECB Governing Council. (hb)
