Brussels, 03/01/2007 (Agence Europe) - In an interview with the Financial Times on Wednesday, Angela Merkel added detail to an idea mooted a few months ago (EUROPE 9286 and 9313) and confirmed that she wanted to see a transatlantic partnership set up. The German Chancellor said that greater harmonisation on regulations in the Union and US would add a boost to trade and investment flows.
