08/12/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 6 December, the European Commission approved state aid covering up to 30% of the cost of retrofitting old Italian buses with particulate filters (new buses already have to comply with stricter environmental standards under EU legislation). Retrofitting older buses with particulate filters will substantially reduce their pollution. (ol)
