MERIEUX ALLIANCE of France has acquired a stake of over 50% in the share capital of SHANTA BIOTECHNICS (a turnover equivalent to over €20 million foreseen for 2006 with 650 employed), an Indian laboratory specialised in vaccines and biotechnological medicines. The amount of the deal was not disclosed.
