French NEXANS (turnover €5.4 billion in 2005 with 20,000 employed and a foothold in 29 countries), the leading cable manufacturer worldwide, has acquired its Australian counterpart, OLEX, for the sum of €330 million. With the acquisition of OLEX (€330 million turnover in 2006 with 910 employed), the NEXANS turnover in the energy sector will increase from 65% to around 70%.
