The leading Danish banking group, DANSKE BANK (465 branches, 19,000 employed and 3.5 million individual clients), has expanded with the acquisition of SAMPO BANK for DK30.1 billion cash. SAMPO BANK (taxable profits of €101 million during the third quarter), which has 158 branches and 3,475 employees, claims 15% of the retail market in Finland, with 1.1 million customers and 20% of the business customer market with 100,000 companies.
