06/11/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Medicine Agency decided on 24 October to close its investigation into non-selective non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), launched in October 2005. The European Medicine Agency concluded that the risk-benefit balance for NSAIDs remained favourable for treating arthritis and other painful diseases. The investigation into a specific NSADI, piroxicam, is ongoing. (oj)
