27/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 24 October, the European Parliament approved an amendment to the 2006 budget earmarking a further EUR 120 mil to encourage economic development in the Turkish Cypriot community (see EUROPE 9281 on a similar decision at the Council). Draft Amending Budget 5/2006 also allows the funding of costs involved in updating the European Commission's accounting system. (lc)
