Parliament calls on Russia to refrain from deploying any military force near Georgian territorial waters

Strasbourg, 27/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - With the adoption in Strasbourg on Thursday 26 October of a joint resolution from six political groups (EPP-Ed, PES, ALDE, Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL and UEN) on the situation in South Ossetia, the European Parliament restates its call in favour of a peaceful settlement to the conflict and its readiness to support the peace process. It calls on all parties to act responsibly by not taking unilateral measures and by not making provocative or aggressive...
