EUFOR-DRC gets reinforcements as presidential elections approach

Brussels, 20/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - With just over a week to go to the second round of the presidential elections on 29 October in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the European force in Kinshasa will be getting reinforcements of 220 soldiers from Libreville in Gabon. The 200 German and Dutch soldiers belong to a stand-by force in Gabon and will bring troop numbers in Kinshasa up to nearly 1400, including an intervention force made up of Spanish legionaries and a Polish military police...
