Luxembourg, 03/10/2006 (Agence Europe) - The European Investment Bank will be granting a loan of €150 million for the construction of the new Marseilles tramway. This loan will go to the first phase of the tramway works, which mainly involves building the two lines, 70% of which is expected to be up and running by May 2007. The project covers 11.9 km of lines, 27 stations, the construction of a new depot and the acquisition of 26 underground trains and re-conversion work. (eh)
