19/09/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, European Peoples' Party (EPP) leader Wilfred Martens says of the centre-right victory in the elections of 17 September, “I am very happy that the EPP will now have one more Prime Minister in Europe. The Moderate Party scored the best result since over 80 years”. The Finnish deputy leader of the EPP Jyrki Katainen said he thought that this victory “will strengthen the position of the EPP in the coming elections in Nordic countries”.
