Call for end to hostilities - meeting of Co-Chairs

Brussels, 22/08/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 12 August, the Co-chairs for Sri Lanka (USA, European Union, Japan and Norway) called for the government and the Tamil Tigers to immediately cease hostilities that are in breach of the cease-fire and return to the negotiating table. In a press release they welcomed the contribution of the “Norwegian facilitator” in the peace process and announced that they will be meeting up soon to assess the situation.
