Luxembourg, 05/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Polish judge at the European Court of Justice, Jerzy Makarczyk, is applying for the post of president of the Court. The election will take place on 7 October this year. The Polish judge's candidature is in parallel to that by the president-in-office, Vassilios Skouris, who has also expressed his intention to stand for another three-year term of office. The president of the Court is elected by all the incumbent judges.
