Economic and Social Committee in favour of association agreement

Brussels, 05/07/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a draft opinion drawn up by Moreno Preciados of Spain (Group II, Employees), to be adopted by the July plenary session, the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) supports the association agreement between the European Union and the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru), for which negotiations were nonetheless postponed during the EU/Latin America Summit in Vienna on 12 May this year (EUROPE 9192 and 9218).
