29/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy confirmed on 29 June that a meeting between the negotiator for Iranian nuclear policy, Ali Larijani, and the EU High Representative for CFSP, Javier Solana, would be held on 5 July in Belgium or Spain. “Depending on the results of the meeting, we shall see whether a second meeting will be held or not and we shall assume our responsibilities as soon as we know Iran's response”, commented Douste-Blazy. The major powers put proposals to Tehran on 6 June, comprising incentive measures especially in the nuclear and economic fields, which are subject to Iran's suspension of its uranium enrichment. The international community is now awaiting Tehran's response to the proposals.
