29/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - Commission President José Manuel Barroso welcomed the announcement on Thursday by the Spanish Prime Minister José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero that his government was about to begin peace talks with ETA. “I share the hopes of all those who look to a new future in which Spain is free from the scourge of terrorism,” said Mr Barroso.
