23/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - The Wine Management Committee approved, on 23 June, the proposals by Spain and Greece to open crisis distillation of wine to sponge up part of the wine surplus. The Community budget devoted to this management measure that may begin from 18 July amounts to €22 million, after €123 million spent for France and Italy (EUROPE 9206).
