22/06/2006 (Agence Europe) - In a press release, the French Socialist delegation in the European Parliament has criticised what it calls the “indifference of the French Parliament” towards the work of the European Parliament. The EP budgets committee held its annual meeting with the chairpersons of the finance committees of the parliaments in the 25 EU Member States on 21 June. “22 countries were represented. But, just as in 2005, the appropriate committees of the French National Assembly and Senate did not see fit to attend this important debate devoted to the 2007 budget, the 2007-23013 financial perspective and the EU's future own resources system, the rapporteur on which is French MEP Alain Lamassoure,” says the French Socialist delegation.
