17/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - On 16 May, the Standing Committee on the Food Chain and Animal Health endorsed a European Commission proposal to extend the regionalised import ban on Romanian live poultry, poultry meat and poultry products because of bird flu. Henceforth, the ban will cover the county of Brasov and four neighbouring counties (Covasna, Harghita, Mures and Sibiu) in the centre of the country.
