Brussels, 10/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - Seventeen films supported by the programme MEDIA have made the final selection for the Cannes International film Festival, which opens on 17 May. This event will crown a year which has been particularly fruitful for the European cinematographic industry, the European Commission proudly notes. "This is undeniably a good year", commented Commissioner Viviane Reding, who is in charge of the Information Society and the Media.
