08/05/2006 (Agence Europe) - French Socialist MEP Martine Roure has published a press release outlining her concern at the appointment of two far right demagogic leaders, Lepper (of the Samoobrona party) and Giertych (of the Polish League of Families), as deputy prime ministers in the Polish government. She explains that their parties promote intolerance and exclusion of people they see as undesirables and this is wholly unacceptable in a government of an EU Member State. They also clearly argue for Poland to leave the EU, she regrets, adding that the current Polish government already notorious for its ultra-conservative views and open hostility to homosexuality, for example. She adds that in order to save his government, the President of Poland, Kaczynski, is prepared to sacrifice Polish citizens, but Polish citizens voted en masse to join the EU in the accession referendum.
