ECONOMIC INTERPENETRATION / (eu) energy

Russian gas monopoly GAZPROM and German giant BASF have agreed an asset swap that will give BASF a 35% stake in a new Siberian gas field, Yuzhno Russkoye, in Western Siberia. In exchange, GAZPROM will increase its stake in WINGAS, the companies' joint venture European gas distributor from 35% to 50%.
