Brussels, 06/04/2006 (Agence Europe) - On the initiative of the UEAPME (the European Association of Craft, Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises), representatives of EU small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) will meet in their annual summit in Graz on 7 and 8 April to discuss “SMEs and the European Social Model”. The summit will be chaired by Paul Reckinger and will feature speakers such as Austrian Minister for the Economy and Labour Martin Bartenstein and Françoise Le Bail, the Commission's SME Envoy and Deputy Director General at DG Enterprise. Debate will focus on: SMEs and the European social model as a follow-up to the Hampton Court European Summit; - the concept of “flexicurity” in SMEs, with Reiner Hoffman Deputy Secretary General of the European Confederation of Trade Unions; - new support measures from the European Commission for Crafts and SMEs.
